Trip Itinerary


Day 1 Istanbul Welcome to Istanbul, the only city in the world connecting two continents: Asia and Europe. This afternoon our tour leader will brief us about the next days of our journey. Evening free to start exploring Istanbul on your own.

Day 2 Istanbul After breakfast we will start to discover the magnificent sights of Istanbul. We'll visit the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace and the Hagia Sophia Museum.

Day 3 Gallipoli Today we will depart Istanbul for Gallipoli. We will discover all the important memorial sites in the region including the Kabatepe War Museum, Anzac Cove, Chunuk Bair and Lone Pine.

Day 4 Troy, Pergamum, Selcuk After breakfast we will head to the ancient city of Troy, the setting of Homer's epic, Iliad, involving a giant wooden horse. We'll continue to Pergamum, and the remains of the Temple of Athena, Temple of Trajan, library and theatre cut into the hillside. In the evening we'll arrive in Selcuk.
 
Day 5 Ephesus, Pamukkale The best preserved ancient town in Turkey, Ephesus, will be our first stop. In the afternoon we will depart for Pamukkale and visit the ancient town of Hierapolis, which was the cure centre founded about 160 BC by the king of Pergamum. Our day will continue with the discovery of Pamukkale (the Cotton Castle) with it's unusual and beautiful landscape. Overnight stay in Pamukkale.

Day 6 Pamukkale, Saklikent, Fethiye Today we will depart for Fethiye, the “traveller’s paradise” by the Mediterranean coast. Besides its magnificent beaches, spectacular nature and unspoiled beaches, Fethiye also covers the site of ancient Telmassus. On our way to Fethiye, we’ll visit the spectacular Saklikent Gorge. Saklikent is a natural wonder hiding within a 18 km long magnificent canyon of which height reaches to 600 meter in some places. The impressive rocks and ice-cold water of the canyon will experience us an unique afternoon. Overnight stay in Fethiye.

Day 7 Fethiye, Kayakoy, Oludeniz After breakfast we’ll first discover Kayakoy (Karmylassos), the old Greek town famous for its impressive old stone houses. Then we’ll head our way to the peaceful Lagoon of Oludeniz where you can relax at the magnificent beach or join one of the adventure activities including paragliding, microlighting and loads more.

Day 8 Fethiye, Gulet Cruise (D) Transfer to your gulet in the harbour of Fethiye. Fethiye seaport with its sheltered structure is an important stop for yachtsmen, at the head of a beautiful bay strewn with islands. Boarding, dinner and overnight in our gulet in Fethiye.

Day 9 Gulet Cruise (B, L, D) After breakfast we'll set off along the coast of Fethiye Peninsular for lunch in a secluded bay. Then we will sail to Butterfly Valley and Olüdeniz and give a swimming break. We'll spend the night at St. Nicholas Island, where you can explore the ruins of a Byzantine settlement when the sun sets.

Day 10 Gulet Cruise (B, L, D) An early start for Yesilkoy, where we'll have breakfast and time to swim in this quiet bay surrounded by olive groves. Then we'll anchor for Kas, a small harbour town with a charming bohemian atmosphere, where we'll spend the night.

Day 11 Gulet Cruise (B, L, D) After breakfast, we'll depart for Simena. We'll trek up to the castle of Simena for a spectacular view of the ancient city. Out in the bay, overlooked by a theatre carved into the rock, a single Lycian sarcophagus sits on its pedestal in the water. We'll spend the night in the wide bay surrounded by green hills, near Ucagiz

Day 12 Gulet Cruise (B, L, D) Our day will start with a short cruise along the Mediterranean coast to the ruins at Kekova - the Sunken City. Then we'll swim and lunch at Tersane Bay where we'll be able to see the ruins of a Byzantine church and a Roman dockyard on the beach. In the afternoon we'll sail to Gokkaya Bay and spend the night here.

Day 13 Gulet Cruise (B, L, D) After breakfast we'll cruise to the sheltered bay at Bayindir Liman where we'll relax and swim. The rest of the day will be spent in Kalkan, a picturesque harbour town set on the hillside, where we may explore the cobbled winding streets or take an optional trip to Patara Beach or the ruins at Xanthos and Letoon.

Day 14 Gulet Cruise (B, L, D) After an early start to Camli Burun, a natural bay edged with pine-clad hills, we'll spend our last night in Batikkaya Bay. Another hectic day to relax, sunbath and to swim.

Day 15 Gulet Cruise, Fethiye, Istanbul In the morning we'll sail back to Fethiye Harbour where our cruise will end. In the evening we'll drive back to Istanbul (night drive by local coach, there will be no tour leader travelling with you).

Day 16 Istanbul Our tour will finish in Istanbul at the main bus terminal.
