15 Days Kasbahs & Camels
Walking, Trekking, Hiking & Camping
Introduction
An exciting journey to Morocco, taking in all its best features - the mountains, the desert and the coast. This trip is full of activities that both parents and children can enjoy - horse-carriage rides, exploring old kasbahs, hiking through forests and of course, camel rides!
Day 1, CASABLANCA Arrive and check in to your hotel. No meals.

Day 2, CASABLANCA - FES This morning you have the chance to visit the Hassan II Mosque before we depart to Fes. We’ll stop in the capital, Rabat, for lunch on the way. (B)

Day 3, FES Today we have a guided tour around the fascinating old medina of Fes, a labyrinth of twisting alleyways and exotic souqs (bazaars). We visit the famous tanneries – noted as much for their overpowering smell as their spectacle! (B)

Day 4, FES - AZROU We travel into the Middle Atlas Mountains, home to huge cedar forests and much of Morocco’s interesting wildlife. We take a short hike through the forest and if we are lucky we may encounter the monkeys that live here. (BLD)

Day 5, AZROU - MIDELT Today we drive to Midelt. We stay in a charming kasbah-style auberge on a farm with a swimming pool, and in the afternoon we can explore old kasbahs or take a trip to visit the ghost mining towns found nearby. (BD)

Day 6, MIDELT - MERZOUGA Journey to the mighty Sahara Desert and take an afternoon camel ride to our tents, in amongst the huge sand dunes at Erg Chebbi. We spend the night camping in the desert. (BD)

Day 7, MERZOUGA - TODRA Drive to the oasis of Todra, an area of fertile agricultural land sandwiched between the desert and the mountains. We explore the famous Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s natural wonders. (BD)

Day 8, TODRA This morning we have a walk through the lovely Todra Valley where we have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of traditional Moroccan life. (B)

Day 9, AIT BEN HADDOU Ait Ben Haddou has been the setting for many films, such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. This morning we explore this old village and its many picturesque kasbahs. (BD)

Day 10, MARRAKECH Journey across the Atlas Mountains, via the Tizi n’ Tichka pass, until we reach the fabled city of Marrakech, the end for Saharan camel caravans in days gone by. (B)

Day 11, MARRAKECH Morning guided tour of the historical sights of Marrakech by caleche (horse and carriage). In the afternoon we explore the souqs on foot.
