Introduction
A wonderful opportunity to relax with some gentle walks
and other activities in the clean mountain air of
France's Savoie Alps. Centre-based for all but one night
we'll climb the slopes to spot marmots, spend a night
'camping' in a mountain refuge, visit a traditional
French cheese-maker and get harnessed up to explore a
wobbly ropes course like real mountain-climbers!
Beautiful Pralognan
The little village of Pralognan is tucked away in the
French Alps - surrounded by dramatic peaks it makes a
superb base from which to explore. Our time here will be
divided between included activities and a large array of
optional ones, enabling you to choose how active to be!
To start we'll take a cable car ride onto the slopes of
Mt. Bochor from where we'll walk mountain paths in
search of marmots. Next day children and adults alike
will be in fits of laughter as we harness up under the
watchful eyes of our instructors and wobble our way
along a hilarious ropes course!
A night on the mountain
We take time out to wander through Pralognan's weekly
market, then take a cable car and hike to our mountain
refuge. Here as the sun dips below the horizon setting
the mountains on fire we'll enjoy a simple meal before
settling down for the night - an unforgettable
experience. Over the next few days there's lots of free
time for an amazing array of optional activities -
choose from parapente, via ferrata (rock climbing),
canyoning, rafting, mountain biking, horse riding,
tennis, minigolf, swimming - even ice-skating!
Visit a local cheesemaker
The Savoie is renowned for its cheese and towards the
end of our week we make the trip into the beautiful
countryside once again, this time to visit a traditional
cheese-maker. We'll learn about the process of turning
milk into cheese, enjoy a tasting and of course have an
opportunity to buy some to enjoy at home. Finally we'll
walk back to the village for a free afternoon to enjoy
some last optional activities.
