Hiking & Cycling in Koli National Park
From your cottage set high in the hills above Koli NP,
you’ll discover a pristine wilderness right on your
doorstep, usually kept secret by snow in the winter
months! You explore the hidden gems of Finland’s most
famous national park on foot and by bike. From the first
hike you’ll encounter the stunning vistas and enjoy
swimming at the beach. You’ll also be able to gather
berries and mushrooms (in season) as you go along, for
dinner that evening! Plus your first piece of a treasure
map...
Canoeing, Activities & Treasure
After climbing to the top of Ukko Koli for views over
Lake Pielinen, you’ll get kitted out and head off in
open canoes on Lake Herajarvi to the museum site of
Lakkala. There is also a free day when options will
include white water rafting, pony trekking, fishing or a
visit to an animal park. A final highlight of this
adventure will be finding the wood elves’ secret cache
of treasure, which the kids have been hunting for all
along by collecting pieces of the puzzle...!
