This trip starts as it means to go on – by exploring
Egypt’s ancient wonders! First to Giza, where you’ll
stand in wonder at the huge Pyramids and see the
enigmatic Sphinx. Then discover the ancient relics of
the Egyptian Museum, including the dazzling gold of ‘the
boy-king’ Tutankhamun’s mask. Your adventure continues
as you board the overnight train bound for Luxor.
Valley of the Kings & Karnak
Located on the Nile, Luxor is the perfect place from
which to continue exploring or simply to relax and soak
up the atmosphere. The Valley of the Kings is a series
of more than sixty finely decorated underground tombs,
dedicated to ancient Pharaohs. You’ll stop at the temple
of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s first female ruler, and
discover her legacy. The next day, you travel by
horsedrawn carriage to the temples of Karnak for a
history lesson in hieroglyphs and there’s also time for
an optional felucca (traditional sailboat) trip on the
Nile before flying back to Cairo.
