Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival in Moscow, with our usual guarantee to meet any flight, train or boat.
DAY 2: Sightseeing walk of Moscow – Red Sq, St Basil’s and more – then free time afternoon and evening.
DAY 3: Visit the Kremlin, we help in getting tickets. Afternoon is free, so much to see! Been to Arbat Street yet? Hang out on Kuznetsky Most, see the French Impressionists at the Pushkin Arts Museum, fix-up your evening plans... dance till dawn in Europe’s wildest clubs... or let others dance for you – at the ballet?
DAY 4: Full day free in Moscow!
The shops, museums, sights and markets are all at your disposal. Early evening bus to the station for our night-train departure (4-berth unisex sleeper cabins) to Novgorod.
DAY 5: Merry Christmas! Early arrival to Novgorod – luckily our bus is waiting to whisk us to the hotel. Walking tour of Russia’s oldest city – so wealthy it was made a Lord! See the C13th Novgorod Kremlin.
Afternoon: Russian Christmas Festivities – folklore program, music dance. Snacks and drinks in typical Russian Village style, with some outdoor games.
Evening: Russian Christmas Feast in the Medieval Banquet all of the Novgorod Kremlin. Four courses and drinks included, and girls and boys who’ve been good may get a visit from Father Christmas.
DAY 6: Depart by road to St P (3-4hrs). Sightseeing walk of Petersburg this afternoon including Palace Square, the canals, bridges, palaces, cathedrals. Free evening to explore the extensive nightlife!
DAY 7: We help you get tickets for the Hermitage Collection – the legendary art-collection displayed in the Winter Palace
of the Tsars (tickets at own expense). Afternoon free to shop, explore, send a few emails to your friends...
DAY 8: Full day in the Imperial City – buying those last-minute presents at the Souvenir Bazaar, catch-up on the sights, get in some vodka to take home (£2 a bottle) and plan your farewell evening!
DAY 9: All too soon – it’s the last day! Our free shuttle service to the airport helps ease your way home.
No activities on Beetroot are compulsory – you buy only the tickets you want, at local face value – leaving you in control of your spending & time!
Top Tip : Book your flights as soon as possible if you want
to return home in early January as these flights fill up
quickly.
