This Contiki tour provides a much more in-depth excursion for those who want to discover Scandinavia including Copenhagen where you can see famous sights like Geffion Fountain, the Royal Palace and the Little Mermaid, Stockholm home to the 17th century warship ‘The Vasa’, Oslo to see the Gustav Vigeland sculptures, breathtaking scenery in Andalsnes, admire the original architecture in Trondheim, visit the Svartisen glacier in Mo I Rana, go deep sea fishing in Hammerfest, see if you’ve been naughty or nice in Rovaniemi (the traditional home to Santa Claus) and visit Helsinki where you can see the Olympic Stadium!
 

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Copenhagen: After checking into your youth hotel, the remainder of the day is at leisure. Join your Tour Manager and fellow travellers for an important meeting at 6pm followed by an included dinner. Youth Hotel (D)

Day 2: Copenhagen Sightseeing: Our sightseeing tour includes Copenhagen’s famous sights like the Geffion Fountain, the Royal Palace and the Little Mermaid. Perhaps a visit to the Carlsberg Brewery this morning. Youth Hotel (B)

Day 3: Copenhagen to Stockholm.: After a short ferry crossing, we arrive in Sweden and head north to Stockholm, Sweden’s capital city. Cabin (B,D)

Day 4: Stockholm Sightseeing.: Today an orientation tour including the Royal Palace and Old Town. In your free time you can visit the 17th Century warship "The Vasa". Tonight why not explore the cobbled streets and sample the local fare. Cabin (B)

Day 5: Stockholm to Oslo.: Our route today takes us through Sweden and across the Norwegian border to the capital city Oslo. Cabin (B,D)

Day 6: Oslo Sightseeing.: A whole day to enjoy the many sights. A chance to visit the Kontiki Museum with its amazing raft and see the Gustav Vigeland sculptures in Frogner Park. Cabin (B)

Day 7: Oslo to Andalsnes.: On to Lillehammer, host town for the 1994 Winter Olympics, and perhaps a chance to try the bobsled run? We then follow a picturesque route past lakes, waterfalls and mountains to our beautifully situated campsite. Cabin (B,D)

Day 8: Andalsnes Sightseeing.: Don’t leave your camera behind as today we follow the "Trolls Road" past the Stigfoss Falls and up the mountain for fabulous views of the glacial valley below. Why not join us on an optional fjord cruise, past some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world, it's an experience you’ll never forget. Cabin/Hotel, depending on time of year (B)

Day 9: Andalsnes to Trondheim.: On to Trondheim, the former capital of Norway, an ancient town where much of the original wooden architecture still remains. See the Kristiansten Fortress and perhaps enjoy a chance to go for pizza and ten-pin bowling. Youth Hotel (B)

Day 10: Trondheim to Mo I Rana.: We journey to "Hell" today, before taking in more of Norway’s stunning beauty as we travel past spectacular scenery to Mo I Rana for two nights. Cabin (B,D)

Day 11: Mo I Rana Sightseeing.: A chance to visit the Svartisen glacier (Norway’s second largest), subject to weather conditions. This afternoon we visit the Arctic Circle Centre for our first glimpse of northern Scandinavia. Cabin (B,D)

Day 12: Mo I Rana to Ramfjord.: Today, we cross the Arctic Circle to Narvik, a bustling port completely rebuilt after World War II. Our campsite tonight is situated by the water. Cabin (B,D)

Day 13: Ramfjord to Hammerfest.: On to our northern-most point, the "Land of the Midnight Sun", crossing some of the most famous salmon fishing grounds in the world. This evening why not visit Nord Kapp, the Northernmost point of Europe? Cabin (B,D)

Day 14: Hammerfest at Leisure.: After a relaxing morning, why not check out the local town. Cabin (B,D)

Day 15: Hammerfest to Rovaniemi.: We leave the mountains of Norway to travel south through the lakes and forests of Finland. Cross back over the Arctic Circle to Rovaniemi, the traditional home of Santa Claus. Cabin (B,D)

Day 16: Rovaniemi to Keuruu.: First a visit to Santa’s house before we head further south to Keuruu. Perhaps a game of volleyball or a sauna at our lakeside camp. Cabin (B,D)

Day 17: Keuruu to Helsinki.: We continue southwards to Helsinki, Finland’s capital. Our sightseeing tour takes in the Olympic Stadium, the massive underground church and Sibelius Park, a memorial to Finland’s greatest composer in the "White City of the North". Youth Hotel (B)

Day 18: Helsinki to Stockholm.: Further free time this morning then enjoy the picturesque “Thousand Island” overnight cruise to Sweden.nbsp;Ferry (B)

Day 19: Stockholm to Copenhagen.: Arriving in Stockholm early morning, we begin our journey southwards across Sweden. After a short ferry crossing, we arrive in Copenhagen. Why not join your crew for a farewell dinner? Youth Hotel (B)

Day 20: Copenhagen.: Farewell to Copenhagen, as our tour ends after breakfast. (B)
