Trip
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Athens. Make your own way to
the hotel in Athens. This
evening at 6.30pm, meet your Tour Manager and fellow
travellers at the
hotel for a welcome drink before we head for the Plaka area
of town for
dinner. (D)
Day 2: Athens to Mykonos. We start the day with a
morning of
sightseeing in Athens. We’ll take our local guide and visit
the Acropolis,
Temple of Zeus and the first Olympic stadium. This afternoon
we head for
the port and our ferry to the Cycladic island of Mykonos and
Contiki’s very
own resort located on spectacular Kalafati beach. (B)
Day 3-4: Mykonos Resort. Two full days and evenings
to enjoy both the resorts’ facilities and the island. By
day, you can relax on the beach, sip refreshing drinks by
the pool or take the chance to get active on the water with
a choice of windsurfing, waterskiing, jetskis or donuts. Why
not see more of the island with a Jeep safari, a caique
cruise around the coastline or take a trip into Mykonos town
for some shopping. By night, there are BBQ’s, Greek theme
nights and dancing or the resort’s very own nightclub “Blue”
comes alive with our resident DJ. (NB. Availability of above

Day 5: Mykonos to Turkey. A third full day at the
resort and a final chance to take part in the resorts’
included activities; tennis, sea kayaks, volleyball and
many, many more. Early evening, we transfer you to Mykonos
town and a last chance to wander the intricate maze of
narrow cobblestone streets looking for that special gift or
maybe find a place to stop and eat before boarding your ship
setting sail for Turkey late this evening. (Brunch)
Day 6: Cruising to Kusadasi, Turkey and Patmos, Greece.
We dock this morning at the port of Kusadasi. Explore the
local bazaar or perhaps take an excursion to the ancient
ruins of Ephesus. Returning to the ship around lunchtime, we
sail for Patmos where St John is reputed to have written the
book of revelation. Time to explore this small island before
rejoining the ship. (B,L,D,S)
Day 7: Cruising to Crete and Santorini. Arriving in
Crete early this morning we dock at Heraklion only a short
distance from the ruins of the Palace of Knossos. We set
sail around lunchtime for the spectacular volcanic island of
Santorini. Enjoy Fira and its narrow paved streets, small
boutiques and cafes clinging to the steep cliffs with
stunning views. (B,L,D,S)
Day 8: Arrival into Athens. Early morning we arrive
back into the port of Piraeus where we disembark and
transfer you into central Athens where your tour ends. (B) |
