Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Rome.: After making your way
to the hotel in Rome, your day is free is explore this
ancient city. Tonight you will meet your Contiki Tour
Manager and fellow travellers for an introductory meeting
and an included dinner. (D)
Day 2: Rome to Venice.: Today we head north over the
Apennine mountains and into the Veneto region for our two
night stop on the mainland close to Venice. En-route we pass
magical hilltop villages, the rolling hills of Tuscany and
the city of Bologna - home of Spaghetti Bolognese. (B,D)
Day 3: Venice.: This morning we take a motor boat to
the central islands of Venice. In your free time explore St.
Marks Basilica, the Doges' Palace or the Guggenheim museum.
Why not join us later on a Gondola ride athrough the canals
of this amazing city. (B)
Day 4: Venice to Florence.: We travel to Tuscany and
the Renaissance city of Florence which was home to
Michelangelo, Raphael and Di Vinci. This afternoon you have
a guided tour of some of the important landmarks including
the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. (B)
Day 5: Florence to Rome.: More free time this morning
to explore Florence, before travelling south to Rome. On
arrival in Rome a sightseeing tour before checking into our
hotel. (B,D)
Day 6: Rome.: A free day to explore this historic
city. Why not see the Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum or even
climb the Spanish Steps? Walk the Via del Corso and shop for
Italian fashion or sit in a sidestreet café and sample a
Gelato - the choice is yours! (B)
Day 7: End Rome.: Time to swap addresses and e-mail
contacts as your tour finishes after breakfast. (B)
