Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Barcelona. Check into the hotel. This
evening meet your Contiki Tour Manager and fellow
passengers.
Day 2: Barcelona. Our included sightseeing tour is a
great introduction to this celebrated city. See Gaudi's
Sagrada Familia Cathedral, the 1992 Olympic Complex and the
Gothic district. A chance to experience Barcelona's famed
shopping street La Ramblas and discover some of Spain's
specialties. Tonight why not experience the passion of
Flamenco dancing?
Day 3: Barcelona to Madrid. We travel west to
Zaragoza. See the impressive Basilica de Nuestra Senora del
Pilar. A chance to lunch in this city of four cultures. Then
it's on to Madrid!
Day 4: Madrid. Our morning sightseeing includes a
guided tour of the Royal Palace. The rest of the day is free
for you to discover this amazing city. Perhaps see the
Bullring or visit the famous Prado Musuem. Tonight a chance
to try fabulous traditional Spanish cuisine.
Day 5: Madrid to Cordoba. Today begins with a morning
drive to Toledo, where we see the Gothic cathedral and El
Greco's house. We then head south into the heart of
Andalusia.
Day 6: Cordoba to Seville. Today we travel to the
host city of the 1992 World Expo - Seville. Join us on our
sightseeing tour including the Maria Luisa park, or maybe
take the opportunity to visit the tomb of Christopher
Columbus.
Day 7: Seville to Granada. Today we visit Gibraltar
before travelling east through the Sierra Nevada mountains
to the town of Granada which is steeped in Moorish history.
Day 8: Granada. Today is your chance to explore the
spectacular former residence of the Moorish Kings - the
Alhambra Palace. You'll also have a chance to visit the
historic Albaicin district of this city.
Day 9: Granada to Ibiza. Travelling east we head for
the Mediterranean port of Denia. We board our ferry and make
our way to the party island of Ibiza where you have the
choice to either relax on the island's beaches or party till
dawn at one of the island's many clubs.
Days 10-11: Ibiza. Enjoy the beach scene by day and
the club scene by night. This is your chance to soak up the
atmosphere of this Balearic island.
Day 12: End Ibiza. Final farewells to your fellow
travellers as your tour ends after breakfast.
