The Indian Ocean is full of picture-postcard scenery and
with its perfect white beaches, crystal clear water and lush
tropical vegetation it provides the perfect getaway.
My Indian Ocean
Travelmood now offers four new fabulous island destinations
in the Indian Ocean: Sri Lanka,
The Seychelles, Mauritius and The Maldives.
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka... an island with mysterious beauty in every
corner, rich in History and filled with exotic charm... is
an unforgettable escape. Let us take you there, where you
can leave your footprints in white velvet sands, rock gently
in sparkling turquoise waves, and walk through the grand
ruins of ancient kingdoms, feed orphaned baby elephants, sip
the world's finest tea, discover an exotic variety of wild
life and explore precious gem mines.
Your dream holiday isn't far, it's just a click away...
The 115 granite and coral islands of The Seychelles
epitomise the image of a true tropical paradise that most
travellers aspire to, with lush islands fringed by pristine,
white sandy beaches where palms sway and the sea's azure hue
takes your breath away. We feature the islands of Mahé and
Praslin. Mahé (pronounced Mar-hey) is the main entry point
for visitors and offers great beaches, such as Beau Vallon.
Smaller Praslin (pronounced Prar-lin), just a 15-minute
flight away offers a quieter retreat as well as great
beaches - Anse Lazio has featured in films and adverts - and
is characterised by a more relaxed island feel.
A couple of hours south is Mauritius, a volcanic and
mountainous island, again with superb beaches. Mauritius
seems to have got everything right for a perfect holiday,
with high standards of accommodation and service coupled
with a friendly attitude second to none. Travelmood feature
hotels located on the east and north coasts. The east is the
quieter of the two, while the tourist region of Grand Baie
in the north is the focus for shopping, restaurants and
bars. Popular here is the all-inclusive option with one
price covering accommodation, meals, most drinks and
watersports.
Located southwest of Sri Lanka and India, The Maldives
comprises 1,190 islands strung out over the 26 coral atolls
that give the Maldives its unique appearance. Stretching for
about 500 miles from north to south you'll find some of the
most stunning beaches you're ever likely to see. Many of the
islands are exclusive to resort hotels and are a haven for
water-sports such as diving, snorkelling, sailing,
windsurfing, and island hopping. But when you're staying in
paradise, who needs to go anywhere?
