Day 2 Blyde River Canyon

Day 3 Kruger National Park
A full day safari in the southernmost part of Kruger National Park. At sunrise you might have the opportunity to glimpse a lion or leopard, or massive rhinos, elephants or a troupe of buffalo searching for new pastures. Continue your safari into the afternoon where you might see certain rare species like the sable antelope. This famous park is enormous and although you can only see a small part of it in a day, it may well be one of the highlights of your trip.
Overnight:
Hippo Hollow Country Estate

Day 4 Cheetah Project
Visit the Cheetah Project at Kapama. This is a breeding centre founded to ensure the survival of the species. Weaker than the leopard and the lion, this magnificent feline also needs wide open spaces in order to survive and is fast disappearing in its natural habitat. Includes a game drive in a 4WD vehicle at Kapama private game reserve.

Day 5 Sudwala Caves and flight Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth
The Sudwala Caves are the oldest known caves in the world, and as such, are a ‘mustsee' on the itinerary of any visitor to Mpumalanga. Their depth is such that the caves have never been completely explored. These incredible caverns lie in the Drakensberg escarpment which separates the Highveld from the lowlands of Mpumalanga. Return to Johannesburg Airport and fly (own expense, your Travelmood consultant can arrange this for you) to Port Elizabeth Airport. Met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation for the night in Port Elizabeth.

Day 6 The Garden Route
Today head west from Port Elizabeth to the beautiful Garden Route region. First stop is at Tsitsikamma National Park, a magical place of deep ravines, cool rivers, forests and a magnificent rugged coastline. Continue on to nearby Plettenberg Bay. ‘Plett’ is one of South Africa’s favourite beach resorts and features two superb sandy beaches. The charming town of Knysna has a great location on the shores of a lagoon and backed by lush, indigenous forests. Overnight in the small, beach resort of Wilderness.
Overnight:
Wilderness Beach Hotel

Day 7 Mossel Bay
Visit Mossel Bay where the first European in South Africa, Bartolomeu Diaz, set foot in 1488. Don’t miss the wonderful lifesize model of his ship. Discover the post tree. Navigators of the XVIth century left their mail under its thick branches so that passing ships could forward them to the addresses. Mossel Bay is a working harbour and offers a great choice of superb seafood restaurants for lunch.
Overnight:
Wilderness Beach Hotel

Day 8 Oudtshoorn
Leave the coastline behind and head north through the Outeniqua Mountains to Oudtshoorn, the ‘Feather Capital’ of the world. Visit an ostrich farm where, if you’re brave you can risk riding this bird capable of running faster than 60km an hour! A racing demonstration will be given by the professional riders. Visit the Cango Caves, 80 caverns that follow one another for more than 3kms. This cave complex is considered to be one of the biggest in the world.
Overnight:

Day 9 Winelands
Cross over the magnificent landscapes of the Small Karoo. Very old mountainous formations separate a semi-desert savannah from the Garden Route, a mere 50kms to the south. Continue on to nearby Stellenbosch; arguably as scenic as Franschoek and steeped in history.

Visit the mythical meeting place of the two great oceans at Cape Point. The renowned navigator Sir Francis Drake considered this to be the most beautiful cape on earth. In the afternoon discover the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. The old docks of Cape Town have been transformed into a vibrant entertainment and cultural centre.
