  South Australia Visitor Information

Why should I visit South Australia now?
South Australia offers visitors a brilliant blend of fine food and wines, exciting festivals, sandy beaches and charming coastal towns. The State of South Australia is renowned for intimate wildlife experiences, the stunning Flinders Ranges and easy access to the Outback.

Airport Information
Adelaide Airport is located 4 miles west of Adelaide city centre. Journey time by taxi is approximately 15 minutes (cost $20). There is a bus service with departures every 30 minutes from 6am to 9pm daily. Travelmood can pre-book a transfer from £4 per person each way.

When should I go?
Adelaide’s climate is often described as Mediterranean - mild winters and warm to hot summers. The warmest months are December to February with maximum temperatures of 28°c (though outback temperatures can reach 40°c). Spring (September to November) and Autumn (March to May) bring pleasant, mild days and maximum temperatures ranging from 21°c to 25°c. Winter from June to August sees the most rainfall and a maximum of 15°c.

What should I do on a shorter itinerary?
Our 4 Day Adelaide Hot Deal includes accommodation, airport transfers and a spectacular day trip to nearby Kangaroo Island. Here you’ll get up close to kangaroos and sealions. If that’s not enough wildlife then you can add a Dolphin Swim tour - a remarkable experience.

And a longer one?
Our 8 Day Best of South Australia Self Drive  will take you into the rugged heartland of South Australia. Here you’ll explore the awe-inspiring Flinders Ranges around Wilpena Pound. On your return stop off at idyllic Clare Valley for some wine tasting in intimate locations and beautiful settings. Finally take the ferry across to Kangaroo Island where you’ll have the chance to see koalas, seals, echidnas, platypi, goannas, wallabies and kangaroos.
