South Australia offers visitors a brilliant blend of fine food and wines, exciting festivals,
sandy beaches and charming coastal towns. The State of South Australia is renowned
for intimate wildlife experiences, the stunning Flinders Ranges and easy access to the
Outback.
Airport Information
Adelaide Airport is located 4 miles west of Adelaide city centre. Journey time by taxi is
approximately 15 minutes (cost $20). There is a bus service with departures every 30
minutes from 6am to 9pm daily. Travelmood can pre-book a transfer from £4 per person
each way.
When should I go?
Adelaide’s climate is often described as Mediterranean - mild winters and warm to hot
summers. The warmest months are December to February with maximum temperatures
of 28°c (though outback temperatures can reach 40°c). Spring (September to
November) and Autumn (March to May) bring pleasant, mild days and maximum
temperatures ranging from 21°c to 25°c. Winter from June to August sees the most
rainfall and a maximum of 15°c.
What should I do on a shorter itinerary?
