Airport Information
Cairns Airport is located 4 miles north of the city of Cairns.
Journey time to the centre of Cairns is approximately 10 minutes
by car. Taxis are available from the airport to Cairns
(approximately $15) and to other beach resorts including Port
Douglas. Travelmood can pre-book a transfer from the airport to
Cairns from £5 per person, to
Palm Cove from £8 or to Port Douglas from £14. Brisbane Airport
is located 8 miles north-east of Brisbane. Journey time to the
centre of Brisbane is approximately 25 minutes by car. Taxis are
available from the airport to Brisbane (approximately $22).

When should I go?
Cairns, in the north, is the tropics. This means it’s warm all
year round with daytime temperatures at 31°c from December to
March, and 26°c from May to August. Tropical downpours occur
during December to April but interspersed with sunshine.
Brisbane, in
the south of the State offers an excellent sub-tropical climate.
The coolest months are July to August with day temperatures at
around 21°c, nights 10°c. The hottest time of the year is
January to February with daytime highs of 29°c and evenings
around 21°c.

itinerary?
