Dubbed the Sunshine State, Queensland is where Australians go to holiday. Boasting tropical weather, beautiful beaches and the warm azure waters of the Coral Sea, it’s no wonder it’s Australia’s favourite playground.

Why should I visit Queensland now?
With the islands of the Great Barrier Reef, sun-kissed beaches, lush rainforest and rugged outback, Queensland has so much to offer. There is a superb range of places to stay; from value-for-money city hotels to tree-top rainforest chalets and luxurious island retreats. For the ultimate Aussie beach holiday Queensland has got to be top of your list.

When should I go?
Cairns, in the north, is the tropics. This means it’s warm all year round with daytime temperatures at 31°c from December to March, and 26°c from May to August. Tropical downpours occur during December to April but interspersed with sunshine. Brisbane, in the south of the State offers an excellent sub-tropical climate. The coolest months are July to August with day temperatures at around 21°c, nights 10°c. The hottest time of the year is January to February with daytime highs of 29°c and evenings around 21°c.

What should I do on a shorter itinerary?
Our Hot Deals (Cairns, Port Douglas, Brisbane) are ideal for a short visit. Each Hot Deal includes airport transfers, accommodation (usually 3 nights) and a tour or two to the regions most sought after attraction.

And a longer one?
So much choice! Try our 10 Day Best of Northern Queensland Self Drive which will take you along some fantastic coastal drives and includes lush rainforest and the historic town of Cooktown. An Island stay is particularly recommended. We offer 7 reef islands, all with their unique character ranging in price from value to luxurious.
