New South Wales Visitor Information
Why should I visit New South Wales now?
With its near-perfect climate, world famous iconic buildings, stunning harbour and laidback
lifestyle there’s no place in the world like Sydney. Regional New South Wales
offers a pristine coast, wine-tasting, world heritage national parks and historic towns.
Airport Information
Located in Mascot NSW, Sydney Airport is approximately 5 miles from the centre of
Sydney and is easily accessible by all modes of transport including car, train, taxi or
bus. Journey time by road is approximately 35 minutes. Travelmood can pre-book a
private transfer from the airport to your hotel from £52 per car per way.
When should I go?
Sydney’s climate is in its favour - the warmest months of December to February have
an average maximum temperature of 26°c. Being close to the ocean, hot days are often
tempered by cooling sea breezes and evening temperatures are balmy - perfect for
relaxed outdoor dining. June to August are the coolest months, with daytime
temperatures rarely falling below 7°c. Even on mid-winter days, with their bright blue,
wide-open skies, an overcoat is usually not necessary in Sydney.
What should I do on a shorter itinerary?
A
4 Day Sydney Hot Deal is a perfect introduction to the city. It includes 3
nights hotel accommodation, sailing on Sydney Harbour and a day in the rugged beauty
of the Blue Mountains.
And a longer one?
To really get out and experience the state of New South Wales we recommend a self
drive itinerary. Our
6 Day Best of New South Wales Self Drive includes
car hire and accommodation and takes you to the vineyards of the Hunter Valley, the
chance to see dolphins on a cruise at Port Stephens, and time to relax in the popular
beachside resort of Coffs Harbour. Alternatively take the coastal route from Sydney to
Melbourne on a 6 day self drive and enjoy breathtaking cliff-top vistas, sandy shores
and lush forests.
