Day 1 Arrive Chiang Rai Met on arrival at
Chiang Rai Airport and transferred to the Dusit
Island Resort or Imperial Golden Triangle.
Day 2 Hilltribes and Golden Triangle A day of
true discovery as you encounter ancient tribes
living in their own remote villages, among the
breaktaking scenery of the Golden Triangle.
Different from any people you’ve ever met – but
also widely different from each other – are the
Tibetian ancestors – worshipping Akha and the
more literate Yao tribe (Chinese by influence),
skilled painters and paper-makers. Then, local
history in another form, at the major ruins of
Chiang Saen, deep in the forest. Finally the
frontier town of Mae Sai, looking across the river
to Burma (Myanmar).
Day 3 Depart Chiang Rai Time at leisure before
your return to the airport and onward journey.
