Explore south-eastern Canada, vibrant Toronto,
Niagara Fall, Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa. Take in rural
Ontario, the Laurentian Mountains and the beautiful
Thousand Island region.
Day 1
Toronto
Arrive Toronto Airport & pick up you Alamo rental car.
Your detailed Roadbook will be waiting at your hotel’s
reception desk. It contains essential travel
information, maps & city guides. Overnight: Days Hotel
Toronto Downtown (2 nights).
Day 2 Toronto
Toronto boasts a fascinating mix of multi cultural
neighbourhoods. From Chinatown to Little Italy,
Greektown and little Portugal to name a few. Not to be
missed are the views from the CN Tower and the
spectacular SkyDome.
Day 3 Toronto – Niagara Falls (81
miles)
Drive south through the orchards and vineyards of the
Niagara Peninsula and along the Niagara Parkway to
Niagara Falls. Included today is a 30-minute cruise
aboard the Maid of the Mist for a close up view of the
Falls. Overnight: Michael’s Inn.
Day 4 Niagara Falls – Kitchener (90
miles)
This charming rural region is an area of outstanding
natural beauty. Kitchener is the gateway to Grand River
Valley with over 30 miles of community trails for
hiking, jogging or bird watching. Overnight: Comfort
Inn.
Day 5 Kitchener – Midland (140 miles)
Travel north to the shores of Georgian Bay into the
heart of Central Ontario. The rural town of Midland
offers a rich diversity of historical and natural
beauty. Visit the Georgian Bay Islands National Park,
Huronia Museum & Indian Village for example. Overnight:
Best Western Highland Inn.
Day 6 Midland – Pembroke (230 miles)
Drive east today taking time to explore the vast
wilderness of the Algonquin Provincial Park, renowned
for it’s hiking trails and canoe routes. Overnight: Best
Western Pembroke Inn.
Day 7 Pembroke – Ottawa (92 miles)
Enjoy a scenic drive along the Quebec – Ontario border
passing through rural towns, such as Renfrew & Arnprior.
In Ottawa you can take an optional cruise along the
picturesque Rideau Canal, North America’s oldest
operating canal. Overnight: Capital Hill Hotel.
Day 8 Ottawa – Tremblant (106 miles)
Today head north into the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec
visiting St. Jovite and Mont-Tremblant Park, Quebec’s
oldest provincial park. Take time to stroll around the
pedestrian village of Tremblant. Overnight: Wyndham
CapTremblant (2 nights).
Day 9 Tremblant
Leave the car today and enjoy some of Tremblant’s many
activities. You can rent a mountain bike or explore on
foot, maybe play a round of golf or enjoy the facilities
of the beach club.
Day 10 Tremblant – Quebec City (242
miles)
Quebec City is the oldest city in Canada and is proud of
its French heritage. Take time to visit the
fortifications, a historic national park, Place Royale
and the Basilica. Overnight: Hotel Classique Ste-Foy (2
nights).
Day 11 Quebec City
A free day to explore this fascination city with its
French culture, historic buildings, cobbled streets and
narrow lanes.
Day 12 Quebec City – Montreal (155
miles)
This morning’s drive will follow the St. Lawrence River
southwest to your next destination, Montreal. Take time
to explore the city and its many historical landmarks.
In the evening be sure to try one of the many gourmet
restaurants and take in the cosmopolitan nightlife.
Overnight: Hotel Lord Berri.
Day 13 Montreal – Kingston (227 miles)
Departing from Montreal, drive west into rural Ontario
perhaps stopping en route to visit the ‘living’ history
village of Upper Canada Village a re creation of a 19th
century pioneering village. You’ll then enter the
beautiful Thousand Islands region where we have included
a 1-hour cruise so that you can enjoy the scenery.
Overnight: Days Inn Kingston.
Day 14 Kingston – Toronto Airport (161
miles)
Drive along the shores of Lake Ontario back to Toronto
Airport. Drop off your rental car before catching your
onward flight.
