Explore the neighbouring provinces of Alberta & British Columbia and enjoy the sights of Calgary, Banff and Jasper National Parks, the interior of British Columbia as well as the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. The Rocky Mountaineer train takes you through the dramatic scenery of the magnificent Canadian Rockies.
Arrive in Calgary and make your own way to your chosen hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore ‘Stampede City’. Overnight Standard: 5 Calgary Downtown, Superior: Delta Bow Valley, Deluxe: Fairmont Palliser.
A full days sightseeing transfer takes you through the ranching country west of Calgary. Visit a ranch before continuing to the Rockies and Banff National Park here you can view the famous landmarks, Tunnel Mountain Drive, Surprise Corner and Bow Falls. Time will be available to take a gondola ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountains for a panoramic view. Overnight (2 nights) Standard: Banff Inn, Superior: Brewster’s Mountain Lodge, Deluxe: Fairmont Banff Springs.
Relax and enjoy the scenery as the tour makes its wake to the Columbia Icefield. This is one of the most dramatic and spectacular landscapes in the world. An optional Ice Explorer ride will take you onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier. The excursion will also stop at Peyto and Bow Lake and at the Crowfoot Glacier.
On board the Rocky Mountaineer you will experience a spectacular rail excursion from Banff to Kamloops. This unique daylight service allows you to see some spectacular sights. The route departs the Rocky Mountains through the Kicking Horse Pass and into the rich farmland of British Columbia. Overnight in Kamloops: Executive Inn or similar.
Reboard the Rocky Mountaineer and travel through ‘cowboy country’, past the Fraser and Thompson Rivers, traverse the old pioneer territory and hear about the history and legends of the West. The last leg of the journey takes you through lush farmlands and past historic towns to Vancouver. Overnight (3 nights) Standard: Holiday Inn Vancouver Downtown, Superior: Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside, Deluxe: Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour and familiarise yourself with Vancouver’s many attractions. The tour highlights include historic Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park, English Bay and more. The afternoon if free for you to discover more of Vancouver at your leisure.
This full days excursion begins with a cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands and includes a visit to the acclaimed Butchart Gardens. Afterwards continue to Victoria for a city sightseeing tour, view the stately homes as well as historic landmarks and Parliament Buildings. Return to Vancouver in the early evening.
End of tour, a chance for some last minute shopping before continuing your journey.
