This rail ‘tour’ allows you to see the major cities and Eastern Canada and experience the different lifestyles in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Via Rail’s train system connects Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City and you will travel in comfortable and modern rail cars. You will experience the exciting ambiance of Toronto; visit Niagara Fall, charming Ottawa, cosmopolitan Quebec and historic Montreal.
Arrive in Toronto and make your own way to your chosen hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Canada’s commercial and cultural centre. Overnight (3 nights) Standard: Courtyard by Marriott, Superior: Delta Chelsea Hotel, Deluxe: Fairmont Royal York.
Discover many of the sights of this cosmopolitan city on your sightseeing tour. Highlights include the provincial Parliament Buildings, City Hall, Chinatown, the waterfront and CN Tower. The rest of the day is yours to see more of the city our do some shopping.
Enjoy a full days excursion to Niagara Falls. The journey to the Falls takes you through the fruit growing district and wine region of the Niagara Peninsula. At the Falls step aboard the Maid of the Mist for a fantastic boat trip to the foot of the Horseshoe Falls (in winter this is substituted by the ‘journey behind the Fall’). Time is available for you to stroll into town.
Today board the ‘Corridor ‘ train to Ottawa. You will pass through little towns along Lake Ontario, historic Kingston and the Thousand Islands region. Upon arrival at Ottawa make your own way to your chosen hotel. Overnight (2 nights) Standard: Lord Elgin Hotel, Superior: Delta Ottawa Hotel, Deluxe: Fairmont Chateau Laurier.
Your sightseeing tour of Ottawa takes in the major sights including the Parliament Buildings, Royal Canadian Mint, National War Museum and the Canadian Museum of Civilisation. The tour also takes you through the scenic gardens and parklands along the Rideau Canal. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city’s many museums, galleries and boutiques.
Depart today aboard the ‘Corridor’ train bound for Quebec City. Leave the capital region of Ottawa behind heading for the Laurentians. Past Montreal the train travels along the southern shore of the St. Lawrence River passing through charming little towns and village. Upon arrival in Quebec City make your own way to your chosen hotel. Overnight (2 nights) Standard: Hotel Clarendon, Superior: Delta Ottawa Hotel, Deluxe: Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.
This morning explore both historic and modern Quebec City on your sightseeing tour. This is the only walled city in North America and is a World Heritage Site. You will see the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, Place Royale, the Basilica and many more points of interest. The rest of the day is free to explore the city and visit one of its fine restaurants.
Today’s journey aboard the ‘Corridor’ train is just a short ride to Montreal. You will travel along the northern shore of the St. Lawrence River passing through historic towns en-route. Upon arrival please make your own way to your chosen hotel. Overnight (2 nights) Standard: Hotel Le Cantlie, Superior: Delta Centre Ville, Deluxe: Fairmont Queen Elizabeth.
On today’s sightseeing tour you will see numerous highlights, such as the Notre Dame Basilica, historic Montreal, the charming Latin Quarter and Olympic Complex. Enjoy panoramic views from an observation point on top of Mont Royal.
Today is your departure from Montreal on board the ‘corridor’ train bound for Toronto. Upon arrival at Toronto’s union Station your tour concludes.
