Calgary to Vancouver

Snow capped mountains, spectacular Pacific coastlines and frontier adventures.

The Rocky Mountains are your gateway to Canada. Experience hot springs, glacial ice fields - and breathtaking views of soaring peaks. Journey over rolling foothills and through interior canyons and discover the frontier legends of homesteaders, cowboys, and gold seekers. The mountain park settings of Banff, Jasper and Whistler give way to the port cities of Vancouver and Victoria. Revel in the Pacific experience from awesome coastal scenery to boat cruises across blue-water straits where whales travel and bald eagles soar. Ocean, mountains and lively communities with famous Western hospitality – this trip has it all.

Day 1 Calgary

Upon arrival in Calgary make your own way to your central hotel and meet your tour director. Overnight: Delta Bow Valley Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Calgary – Banff National Park

Begin the day with a city tour of Calgary before travelling west on the Trans-Canada Highway into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The majestic peaks of the Canadian Rockies soon loom into view as you approach Banff National Park. Overnight (2 nights): Mount Royal Hotel or similar.


Day 3 Banff National Park

Today enjoy a tour around the Banff region, which became Canada’s first national park in 1885 to protect the natural hot springs. An optional (extra cost) helicopter flight will give you a great view of the mountain scenery. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this charming town.

Day 4 Banff National Park – Jasper

Today’s journey through Banff and Jasper National Parks promises to be a highlight of your holiday. Shortly after leaving Banff visit Lake Louise and than travel north through on the famous Icefields Parkway through rugged wilderness flanked by dramatic mountain scenery. At the Columbia Icefield board an Ice Explorer to ride on the surface of Athabasca Glacier. Overnight: Sawridge Inn or similar.

Day 5 Jasper National Park – Sun Peaks

Travel west along the Yellowhead Highway and into the heartland of British Columbia, seeing some breathtaking scenery along the way. Upon arrival in Sun Peaks there’s the chance to take an optional (extra cost) canoe trip. Overnight: Nancy Green’s Cahilty Lodge or similar.

Day 6 Sun Peaks – Whistler

There are dramatic changes of scenery today as we drive through ranch lands towards the coastal mountains. There’s an opportunity to take an optional (extra cost) floatplane sightseeing flight over Garibaldi Park to view the volcanic peaks, alpine lakes and meadows. Overnight: Delta Whistler Suites or similar.

Day 7 Whistler – Victoria

The Sea-to-Sky Highway takes us south through some beautiful coastal scenery to Horseshoe Bay where we board the ferry to cross the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island. En route to Victoria we visit the Quw’utsun’ Cultural Centre to experience the culture and traditions of the Cowichan people. Overnight (2 nights): Chateau Victoria or similar.

Day 8 Victoria

Proud of its maritime heritage, Victoria retains a quaint colonial charm that is evident as you tour this delightful city. You can take advantage of the optional (extra cost) floatplane sightseeing tour over the city. The rest of the day is free to explore the delights of the city.

Day 9 Victoria – Vancouver

Visit Butchart Gardens today, time is available to stroll through these world famous gardens before the pleasant cruise through the Gulf Island to Vancouver. Upon arrival enjoy an interesting tour of the city, including Stanley Park, English Bay, Gastown, China town and much more. This evening features a farewell dinner at the Capilano Suspension Bridge with a welcome from First Nation carvers. Overnight: Coast Plaza Hotel or similar.

Day 10 Depart Vancouver

Time for some last minute shopping and sad farewells before making your own way to the airport for your onward flight.
