Culture The diverse culture and religious ceremonies of the Balinese create a special magic only to be found on this island. Among the most artistic races in the world, the best examples of Balinese skill are found in the picturesque hill village of Ubud - a retreat for both local and foreign artists who enjoy the peaceful, creative atmosphere.

Beaches Nusa Dua is Bali¹s prime tourist resort. Once a coconut plantation, it has been landscaped into beautiful gardens providing a delightful setting for the beachfront upmarket hotels. There is an offshore coral reef too, which is ideal for snorkelling. Sanur Beach is wide and sandy with an offshore reef that protects it from currents making it popular for windsurfing and sailing, as well as soaking up the sun or paddling in the lagoon.

Activities mainly centre around the beach and the offshore reefs. Hotels offer night-time entertainment.

Shopping Beach markets offer colourful batiks, woven sarongs and colourful t-shirts.

Climate Hot and sunny year round with high humidity on the coast which is tempered by cooling sea breezes.

Flying to Bali
Although there are no direct flights between the UK and Bali, easy connections can be made at numerous South East Asia gateways. Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong, Malaysia Airlines through Kuala Lumpur, Thai Airways via Bangkok, and Singapore Airlines via Singapore all offer good value fares and convenient connections. In addition we can also offer you flights with Qantas and their sister airline Australian Airlines through Singapore. Between them these airlines offer numerous daily flights both from Heathrow and your local regional airport. All of these options will allow you to either fly straight to Bali, or take a stopover en route. A lot of our clients take a stopover as it lets you combine a short city break (great for shopping and sight seeing!) with a relaxing beach holiday. Your Travelmood consultant will be happy to advise on the choices available to you.
