
The Ghan
The extension of The Ghan service to Darwin has
further enhanced what is already considered one of the
world’s great train journeys. The Ghan operates a twice
weekly service between Adelaide-Alice Springs-Darwin.
Boarding The Ghan in Adelaide for Darwin, you’ll have 2
nights aboard this legendary train, covering over 1850
miles.
Marvel at the spectacular Australian landscapes from
fertile countryside surrounding Adelaide to the rusty
hues of the Red Centre, onto the tropical splendour of
the Top End. The Ghan is the ultimate journey through
the heart of the continent.
Accommodation & Facilities
The Indian Pacific and The Ghan offer two levels of
service:
Gold Service Well
appointed Single and Twin Sleeper Cabins are available.
Twin Sleepers have a comfortable three seater lounge
which converts to upper and lower sleeping berths and
include private en suite bathroom with wash basin and
shower. Single cabins have most of the features of the
twin cabin, however showers and toilets are located at
the end of each carriage. Stylish restaurant car dining
is included in the fare.
Red Service - Seat Only Service Daynighter
seating is in comfortable two abreast reclining
armchairs. Toilet and shower facilities are located at
the end of each carriage. Guest have access to the lounge and diner where they can
purchase meals and beverages.
