A glorious week which takes you
into south Queensland's lush and
luscious rainforest hinter land,
then journeys north to while away
a few days at one of Australia’s
chicest seaside resorts, before
fetching up at Fraser - a vast
island made up of pure white
sand, with breath-taking beaches
and a rich rainforest interior.
Day 1 Brisbane to Lamington National Park
91 miles 2½ hours
Depart Brisbane and head south to Surfers
Paradise, the heart of the Gold Coast. Continue
on the short drive to the World Heritage listed
Lamington National Park. Lamington National
Park offers 160km (99 miles) of walking track
to over 500 waterfalls and panoramic mountain
lookouts. Overnight for 2 nights at O'Reilly’s
Guest House.
Day 2 Lamington National Park
Lamington National Park
O'Reilly's Treetop Walk is 180m in length and 15m above
the ground. See flowering trees, vines, orchids, ferns, and
the birds and animals that inhabit the tree tops.
Day 3 Lamington National Park to Noosa
156 miles 4 hours
Depart Lamington National Park and travel
north to Noosa, located on the Sunshine Coast.
The main street of Noosa, Hastings Street has
a great selection of restaurants and cafés and
fashion boutiques. The beaches are secluded
and the National Park is nearby for great
rainforest walks and birdlife. Overnight for 2
nights at Noosa Blue Resort.
Day Noosa
Today is at leisure for you to enjoy what Noosa
has to offer. If you are in town on a Saturday or
a Wednesday, don’t miss a visit to the colourful
Eumundi Markets in the heart of this historic
town to browse and shop for handicrafts, bric-abrac,
Aboriginal artworks, antiques, clothing,
food and all manner of fresh local produce.

Day 5 Noosa to Fraser Island
139 miles 4 hours
Depart Noosa and continue the journey north
rejoining the Bruce Highway and travelling
through Gympie. Follow the signs for
Maryborough, one of the oldest cities on the
Fraser Coast and a wool port dating from 1847.
Continue on to Hervey Bay and the Urangan
Boat Harbour for your catamaran to Fraser
Island. Overnight for 2 nights at Kingfisher Bay
Resort (including breakfast).

Lake McKenzie, Fraser Island for its white silica sand and crystal clear water.
Day 6 Fraser Island
Today depart on your full day ranger guided
4WD tour and learn about the natural and
cultural history of Fraser Island. Swim in the
crystal-clear, blue waters of Lake McKenzie, the
island’s most beautiful perched lake. From
Central Station, walk along the banks of
Wanggoolba Creek as it flows silently through
the rainforest. Marvel at the tall, majestic
satinay trees of Pile Valley. Drive along the
spectacular Seventy-Five Mile Beach. Stop to
swim in the cool fresh waters of Eli Creek. This
swift flowing creek, the largest on the eastern
beach, spills 80 mega litres of water into the
ocean every day. Visit the Maheno shipwreck
and marvel at the coloured sands of the
Pinnacles. See an ancient forest being
uncovered as Stonetool Sand Blow moves
across the island.

Day 7
Fraser Island to Brisbane
203 miles 5¼ hours
Transfer back to Hervey Bay by catamaran with
Kingfisher Bay Resort. Rejoining the Bruce
Highway and heading south towards on to
Brisbane, the City of Sun Days, and the capital
of Queensland. Wonderful weather, friendly
people and plenty of exciting attractions have
long made it a favourite holiday destination.
